The goal of community crisis stabilization is to prevent hospitalization and establish community stabilization and safety plans. Community crisis stabilization is designed to provide 24-hour observation and supervision for individuals who do not require inpatient services. Crisis counselors often use psychological first aid to reduce acute distress, restore physical and mental stabilization, and integrate prosocial coping skills.
